 KELLI COOK is the owner of Downriver Gymnastics.  She has over 34yrs gymnastics experience as a coach, judge and competitive gymnast.  Kelli is safety certified by USA Gymnastics and a professional member of USA Gymnastics.  She has worked with some of the top gyms and coaches in Michigan and have spent 3 ½ years in Germany where she studied with German coaches and developed the largest gymnastics program in the U.S. Army Europe. 

She is very proud to own this gym and  loves working with all the children.

 Stephanie Barry is one of the competitive coaches as well as the team coordinator for the gym. She is a USA Gymnastics professional member, safety certified by USA Gymnastics, CPR certified and  also a certified Level 1-4 skill evaluator.  Stephanie has been involved in gymnastics for over 25 years.  She was a competitive gymnast as a pre-teen and also a cheerleader in high school and college.  While completing college and earning a law degree, Stephanie coached competitive varsity cheerleading for four years.  She has worked at Downriver Gymnastics for eight years and have coached all levels of gymnastics and tumbling.

Hi, I'm Jennifer Corless and I've been a gymnastics instructor at Downriver Gymnastics since the fall of 2002. I am pleased to announced that I am now the Preschool Program Director.  I started Ballet at six years old and participated in the Nutcracker with the Children's Ballet and Modern dance at Lansing Community College. Later, I became a member of the Wayne State University's dance company where I studied Ballet, Modern and African dance.  I then danced with Ballet Renaissance of Detroit and St. Mary's in Canada.  I am currently a stay at home mom with two boys and I have the honor and priviledge of working with some very wonderful and talented young children here at Downriver Gymnastics.

Hi, I'm Danielle Jokela - This is my 7th year coaching for Downriver Gymnastics. I cheered for 4 years at Carlson High School. I am currently the coach of Carlson Varsity Squad, which were 2 time state champs.  I also coach the tumbling classes for many of the cheer squads that come to our gym as well as travel to Canton, Ypsilanti and Farmington to work their cheer squads.  I am a full time student at EMU, majoring in education.  I love sharing my knowledge of cheer and tumbling with all the DG students.

Hi my name is Katy McKay!  Since 2005 I have been a proud member of the Downriver Gymnastics staff.  I was a level 9 competitive gymnast and I was coached & trained by Olympic Bulgarian gymnasts.  I currently work with all programs here at Downriver Gymnastics – competitive, recreational, preschool & cheer.  I love passing on my love and passion for the sport of gymnastics.  If you have any questions please feel free to ask me. 

 Hi! My name is Annette Ketcher and I LOVE being a gymnastics instructor!  I am currently the recreational program leader for Downriver Gymnastics. I graduated from Wayne County Community College in December 2009 with an associate degree in science and an associate degree in dental hygiene.  I love the discipline and responsibility gymnastics teaches children.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

Hello my name is Michael LaFever.  I am known as coach Mike to your kids.  I have been employed with Downriver Gymnastics for over three years.  Being employed with DG has made me develop into a well rounded coach over the years.  At this time I currently coach a wide variety of both gymnastics and cheer classes.

       I recently developed a new Parkour class that consists of more than sixteen children.  I also coach all levels of gymnastics from recreational through team.  For cheer I coach cheer tumbling to multiple cheer teams around the entire Wayne county area.  I also coach cheer tumbling to all levels of our totally tumbling class that we offer, from beginner Level 1 through   advanced skills such as cross tumbling layouts to layout full twists.

Hi!  My name is Abby Schirrick. I have been involved in gymnastics for over 16 years. I competed up to level 6 here at Downriver Gymnastics. I was also o varsity Competitive Gymnast at Edsel Ford High School. Currently I am attending University of Michigan, Dearborn. I have been a part of the Downriver Staff for almost 6 years now and I absolutely love it!  Please let me know if there is anything I can do to you and your child here at Downriver Gymnastics, I would love to help!

Hi, my name is Amber Fater. I am currently attending Wayne State University, where I am studing nursing. I have been a member of the Downriver Gymnastics family for over 14 years.  I was a Level 8 competitive gymnast. I started coaching in 2007 and love it.  I am now the Pre-Team Program Leader here at DG.  I am glad to be here to help show your child how fun gymnastics is! WELCOME to Downriver Gymnastics!  My name is Rachel Helstowski.  I am a Varsity competitive cheerleader for Riverview Community High School (RCHS).  I was also a competitive gymnast for Downriver Gymnastics for three years.  I am currently on the honor roll, National Honor Society, and an active member in the Diversity Club and Spanish Club.  I teach pre-school as part of the RCHS occupational training program and am certified in CPR.  I love to work with children and hope to pursue a career in elementary education.  I am glad that I am able to coach gymnastics because I am able to see the joy the child gets when they learn a new skill.  I have found gymnastics to be a wonderful sport that builds self-confidence, character, and strength.  I look forward to teaching your child and watching them grow.  Feel free to let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of any help.

Hello I’m Stephanie Crisi. Downriver Gymnastics has been my 2nd home for the past 12 years.  I was on team until March of 2005 when I finished my last season competing.  I competed as a Level 8 gymnast last year and took a gold medal at each meet in my last season.  I graduated from Lincoln Park High School with nearly a 4.0 GPA in 2005 and now attend Henry Ford Community College. I look forward to working with the pre team, team kids & all the gymnastics here at DG.  I hope they have the fabulous experience in gymnastics that I had & still have.  If I can help you in any way please feel free to ask -  I’d love to help.

Hi, my name is Bushra Aloush, I have been been with Downriver Gymnastics since June of 2004. I have worked with pre-school thru team level classes.  I was an International Competitive Gymnast from Egypt. I also coached and judged gymnastics in Kuwait and Canada. I am currently a certified USAG Judge for levels 5 and 6. In the past I have coached pre-school, girls' recreational, and levels 3-7 at All-Star Gymnastics in Novi.  I am looking forward to working with your gymnasts. Hi, my name is Dayna Petkov. (You might recognize me as Coach Deanna's younger sister!) I am currently attending Riverview High School, where I am a member of the National honor Society and have a 4.0 G.P.A.. I have been a member of teh Downriver Gymnastics Family for as long as I can remember. I am currently DG's highest level competitive gymnast (which is level 9). I have been sidelined while dealing with a hip injury. In teh meantime, I am glad to be here to help show your child how fun gymnastics is! If you have any questions, pleasefeel free to let me know!

Hi there and welcome to the FABULOUS Downriver Gymnastics! My name is Cassidy Cadieux. I am a new coach here at DG and I must say that I love it! I love working with children, they teach me just as much as I teach them. I am currently a Lincoln Park High School student, class of 2012. I have been cheering for a total of 8 years and I am a sideline and compeititve cheerleader for my high school. I am a diligent student as well as a hard working person. I take pride in myself, my school, and my other activities such as NHS, Student Council, and Ski Club. Hello everyone my name is Miss Lisa and I love to play gymnastics every day.  I’ve been at DG for 9 wonderful years.  I love making new friends and have a special part in my heart for silly boys, because I have two at home.   Issac, who is 10 and Weston who is 7.  I hope you’ll love this gym as much as I do.  I’m always here if you ever have any questions or concerns.  Just Ask!

Hello! My name is Desiree Baron. I have been attending this gym for as long as I can remember. I started out here as a gymnast at 4yrs old. After many years of gymnastics, I became a cheerleader. I have been doing cheerleading now for almost 6 years. I am a senior at Carlson High School where I am a varsity cheerleader. My team has worked extremely hard in becoming back-to-back state champions in 2008 and 2009 and also winning second at states in 2010. After I graduate, I plan to attens Michigan State University or Grand Valley State University to become an elementary school teacher. I am very excited to help your child acheive their goals! Hi! I'm Kiah Manthei. I have been a part of the DG family for as long as I can remember! I was a competitive gymnast here and am currently a competitive cheerleader at Gibraltar Carlson High School. I have a 4.0 gpa and am active in local youth theatre groups and dance. I also take vocal lessons and sing in a show choir! I love Downriver Gymnastics! It is my second home and family! I am so excited to be coaching gymnastics! HI, my name is Emily Reif. Welcome to Downriver Gymnastics! I go to Carlson High School and am in the class of 2013.  I was a gymnast for  8 years and had to retire due to a recurring ankle injury. I maintain at least a 3.8 GPA in school and I rowed crew my freshman and sophomore years.  I've been part of the DG family since 2006 and this is my 2nd home!  I believe gymnastics teaches discipline, perseverance and confidence.  I really enjoy coaching and am looking forward to working with your child!  If you have any questions, feel free to let me know.
